Southside FC entered this match looking to bounce back from a tough loss a couple of weeks ago, and they did so in spectacular fashion with a commanding 5-2 victory over Northland FC.

In the early stages, Northland dominated possession, but Southside's disciplined defensive shape allowed them to weather the initial pressure. As the team settled into the match, they began to exploit Northland's vulnerabilities on the counter-attack.

The breakthrough came 15 minutes in when Ramiro played a precise long ball to Trey, who took it in stride and calmly slotted it home to give Southside the lead. Just five minutes later, a similar counter-attacking play saw Nate assist Elijah for Southside's second goal.

Northland managed to pull one back from the penalty spot after a handball was called in the box. Ryan nearly saved the penalty, getting his fingertips to the ball, but it wasn't enough to keep it out. Southside responded swiftly as Alex scored his first goal for the club, tapping in a loose ball that was bouncing around the box.

As the first half drew to a close, Northland scored a stunning goal from outside the box, leaving Ryan with no chance and bringing the score to 3-2 at halftime.

The second half saw Southside continue their dominance, giving Northland few opportunities to threaten. Trey added his second goal of the match with an assist from Aidan, and Ty capped off the scoring by finishing a bouncing ball from a cross to make it 5-2.

This victory marks Southside's second win over Northland this season. Special praise must be given to the backline, who mitigated several threats and allowed very few chances apart from the unfortunate handball and the incredible long-range goal.
