Southside FC had their first home game Saturday, April 12th, against Liberty FC. After sharing points in their first match, Southside was looking to put their first win on the board for the new season, and they did not disappoint.

The first goal scored by forward Trey Berman assisted by Tony Rangel helped Southside make a statement and set the flow for the game. Southside spent the first half controlling the game, and an own goal by Liberty only confirmed Southside’s dominance. Southside got off to a quick start in the second half with a goal from Guilherme that was assisted by Sabino, and Liberty was starting to show signs of life by putting up two goals of their own. An unfortunate series would follow for Liberty, who would see two red cards in two separate incidents. Southside took advantage of their numbers with a goal from Tony assisted by Nate in the dying minutes of the game, locking in a final score of 4-2.

This is Southside’s first win of the season making their season record 1-1-0. On April 19th, Southside FC will be traveling to take on Leawood Forest at Barstow High School. The men are looking to carry over this momentum and intensity.
